Troubled

I don't post much about Taylor since I told you all that he was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, other than the fact we were thrilled (if you can be thrilled about something lile c..p.) to find out that the type he had was low on the totem pole and he would be able to live a long and normal life, just like any other little boy.

But, it is getting closer to the dates with the specialists to start his first round of Bot ox shots and casting. I feel like I am going blind into all of this, I really no very little about cerebral palsy and although people reassure me that after all of this I will be a pro, sometimes I think is it really worth putting Taylor through all of this?

He will wear these plastic-like casts on his lower half of his body for 9 weeks, and I have to take him to the doctor once a week for adjustments etc. We have the first bot ox shots before the casting starts, because that is the how the process goes. I asked them if the Bot ox shots will hurt and was met with not anymore than a regular shot. I have my fingers crossed there. Ever since the torturous antibiotic shots he had when he ran a fever for a week straight that left my baby boy in tears and fears of needles where before there were none, I have decided that I am not going to just accept what he or she says is best.

When it comes down to it, the same question keeps running through my head. Why are we doing this again? Oh yeah, so Taylor doesn't walk on his tippy-toes and more. but really, who is it hurting if he is a toe walker until the day he dies?? Sometimes I want to call the pediatrician and specialists and tell them we have decided we do not want to do any of this, we'll just stick to the physical therapy please. Why does Taylor need to go through all of this?? Maybe there is something I am missing.

I guess the best thing would be to call and speak to someone there about all of this, before I throw Taylor over to them.

Suggestions?

I Am Batman....

I was reading over at Lotta's about how some bloggers are hosting a "cyber-like" baby shower for a fellow blogger who is obviously having a boy. I thought how sweet, and after reading through some of the advice from a few other bloggers, Lotta's hit home the most after reading this.

*Will think you are incredibly overprotective when you insist on hovering under your boy child as he climbs up playground equipment. As they are not used to the idea that their children believe they can fly like (insert current superhero fascination here).*

A few weeks ago, I got a call from the school nurse, which for me is nothing new considering my kids' are on a first name bases with her. I am expecting to hear "I have Taylor in my office with a 100.4 fever" or "I have Claire in my office complaining of a headache", and I am not even lying about Claire's illnesses, she once went to the nurse complaining of joint pains! That girl is too much I tell you!!

Anyway, the call actually went like this:

Nurse: Ms.Mom, I have Taylor in my office, it seems he was hurt at recess.

Me: Really? What happened? Is he alright??

Nurse: Yes, he seems fine now but apparently he was on the jungle gym, at the very top and then proceeded to fall and use his face to stop.

Me: What?

Nurse: He is a bit scratched up and his glasses are all out of joint, but he doesn't seem to have broken anything.

Me: Wow. Okay, well that's good I guess.

Nurse: We cleaned up his face but we just wanted to make you aware of his little fall.

Me: Okay, well thanks.

When I got home from work and saw my baby boy's face, it looked like he had been in a fight, and the jungle gym totally whooped his ass!

Boys............ Gotta love 'em!

So Much For The Day Of Freedom

Saturday morning Paris had an appointment (yes just one more appointment for me to deal with) with the groomers, the nice thing is I typically use the company that actually comes to my home and tends to her needs right in my driveway. Very nice.

So really I didn't even need to change out of my pj's when she rolled up at around 8:30ish, but I did throw on a jacket because it was freezziiinnnggg out there. It had been awhile since we used their service so I was not surprised to see the gal before was no longer the one servicing our area. The young girl seemed nice enough, but before I handed her my tiny terror, I explained that Paris was very scared and although she had never bitten anyone, she was known to snap. In her best "cooing" voice she attempted to take Paris out of my arms, but Paris was having none of that and immediately bared her teeth and started to do that thing she does with her head, sorta looking like The Exorcist.

I decided the best thing would be to muzzle Paris because I did not want her to bite the groomer lady, so I followed her outside to the van as she chose the smallest one she had. Still holding Paris, she attempted to get it on my snapping dog and as her hand came closer and closer, I felt Paris's little body tense up and ready to strike.

Just in time, I moved my hand in front of the groomer's and crunch went my knuckle as one of Paris's fangs sunk in. Somehow I managed to not make a peep as I slipped my injured hand under Paris and told the groomer I would take the muzzle inside with me and have Bryan help me get it on. I know Paris was just scared shitless and didn't mean to bite me, but I cant honestly say that for the rest of the day that I did not tread lightly around jaws.

The bite looks worse than it is, hurt like hell all Sunday but we cleaned it out well and so far my finger has not fallen off. Oh and Paris, she looks just beautiful and smells like a tulip!

Yesterday, while my aunt was at work on what seemed like another normal day, someone was in her house going through her personal belongings and stealing her family heirlooms among other things. This person broke the guest bedroom window and entered her house, traipsing through her home like they lived there. My aunt is not materialistic and had they just stolen the television or maybe the computer, we could replace it. But this person decided to take her jewelry, and this is not just things she has bought for herself, this was my grandmother's (her mother) and my Uncle's (her brother) jewelry that are not replaceable, items that were given to her after my Grandmother and Uncle passed on. It's all gone.

This person also stole her son's PSP and a few games, plus a lock box that had a bunch of my aunt's personal papers in it (bank statements, social security papers, etc.), so now she has to go and cancel all of her credit cards, banking accounts, the list goes on and on.

The police are pretty sure this was kids, considering all of the things they COULD have stolen, but chose the pretties and a video game console. Whether this person is a child or an adult, I just want you to know something. The things that you stole from my Aunt I can get past, but what I can not forgive you for is stealing my Aunt's "soul". She has always been the strong one, the one who every one else goes to when their world is falling around their ears, the one I knew no matter what would and could make it better. Nothing seemed to scare her, after all she has been through her bravery and courage and strength always flew high like a flag. But after you, I see a different woman, someone who is afraid to go home, someone who sees a giant wall that she is not sure if she can get over, someone who is broken and torn and lost.

Because of that ~ I hope that you do not go unpunished. I hope you lay awake in your bed fretting over whether or not you are going to get caught, what will happen to you, what you're parents will say.............

I hope she gets a chance to look you in the eyes and see there is nothing to be afraid of, just a child that has lost his way.

Appts Here, Appts There, Appts Everywhere

As usual things are hectic in our household, and this week is just filled to the brim of appointments. I had my yearly woman check up on Monday which they chose to wait until I drove the 30-45 minute drive and arrive to inform me the doctor had had an emergency and I would need to reschedule. That is after I called right before I even left for the appointment. Grrrrrr.

Tomorrow I have a dentist appointment to get some fillings done on the left hand side of my mouth, and we all know what a treat that will be. I always find it quite interested trying to eat when I can't even feel my lips. Last time I had an itch on my face and even though I knew I was scratching it, I could not FEEL it. Thursday morning Taylor has an appointment with the dentist as well to get one filling. Even though we make sure and brush the kids teeth every morning and night, he still managed to get one cavity even though Claire has none. According to their dentist Taylor really deep grooves in his teeth so it is easier for food to become trapped.

And then last but not least, our dog Jojo has an appointment with the vet on Friday morning to get his rabies shot and to have his leg looked at. Last Saturday he was in the backyard playing with my sister's puppy when we hear him yelp. He has been a 3-legged wonder dog ever since, and we have no idea what the hell happened to him. Please keep your fingers crossed that we're not going to have to sell a kidney to fix him.

Last Saturday I attended MamaDramaConQuesoII and am so glad that I did! I met some really nice bloggers that I had not known before and got to meet some folks who's blog I read every day, so for me it was like meeting a movie star. Needless to say the entire way there I was trying not to hyperventilate and told Bryan it was like walking into your High School Reunion, but it was worth every minute of it ~ hives and all. :)

Claire got lice. Again. After taking them out of daycare and switching elementary schools, we thought we were in the clear, seeing how she had not had them in about a year. But remember that birthday party I dropped my darlings off at last week?? Yeah I got a call from my BFF on Saturday to inform me that one of the dirty, I mean sweet girls that attended had lice. Grrrrr. And after doing a check of Miss Claire's head lo and behold, the bastards were back again.

Bryan did a treatment on her as I had Taylor in the other bathtub, when Bryan stopped by and asked Taylor if his head itched. Taylor said "No, but my butt does." Luckily Taylor did not get the lice and I washed his dirty self so his butt would stop itching as well.

This Saturday is the Monster Truck Jam at the Reliant Stadium, which is something Bryan and I wanted to take the kids to but we're putting it off on the back burner until we know how much Jojo is going to put us under. It really won't be a huge disaster if we do not get to go seeing as how both of my children are scared of loud noises and those trucks can be at ear splittin' decibels. I also promised the kids we would go this weekend to the SPCA to see about maybe adopting a new kitten, so I guess we'll just see how everything works out. Hope you all are having a wonderful week!

Too Good Not To Share In My Opinion

A United States Marine was attending some college courses between
assignments. He had completed missions in Iraq and Afghanistan .

One of the courses had a professor who was a vowed atheist and a
member of the ACLU.

One day the professor shocked the class when he came in. He looked
to the ceiling and flatly stated, "God, if you are real, then I want you
to knock me off this platform. I'll give you exactly 15 minutes." The
lecture room fell silent. You could hear a pin drop. Ten minutes went by and
the professor proclaimed, "Here I am God. I'm still waiting." It got down
to the last couple of minutes when the Marine got out of his Chair, went
up to the professor, and cold-cocked him; knocking him off the platform. The
professor was out cold. The Marine went back to his seat and sat there, silently. The
other students were shocked and stunned and sat there looking on in silence.
The professor eventually came to, noticeably shaken, looked at the Marine
and asked, "What the hell is the matter with you? Why did you do that?"

The Marine calmly replied, "God was too busy today protecting
America soldiers who are protecting your right to say stupid shit and act
like an asshole. So, He sent me."

What A Night!

Last night was my BFF's daughter's birthday party, and the kids were just thrilled at the idea of going to Chuck E Cheese's on a school night! Pizza, cake, candy, crap, Oh My!! But I have to be honest, I think I was more excited then they were because, *holding my breath*, I got to drop them OFF and and spend 2 HOURS COMPLETELY ALONE!!

Bryan called me and asked what I would be doing with my hours off and I exclaimed, "I'm gonna vacuum butt ass naked!" I was obviously kidding but what I ended up doing was pretty much just as wacky. I had me a few Bud Lights and jammed out to George Michael!! Eat your heart out! ;)

Holy Shit It's Santa!!

What is really crazy is that my husband still wants to sleep with that there Santa!!!

Hello Blogger World!

I am back to being a sucky blogger, yes, this I know. I seem to go through phases where I want to post every day about every little thing that is going on in my part of the world and then the next month I decide nothing is good enough to post. Maybe that is just me being lazy.

New Years was a great time for us, we pretty much just took it easy and stayed home ~ just the four of us. Bryan went and bought some fireworks to terrorise (entertain) the munchkins with and grilled out enough food for the entire damn street. I ended up making a plate for the old guy next door that seems to be a widow and he happily took it. Because I am old I barely made it to midnight, by 11pm (ll freaking pm people!!)I was ready for bed and actually asked Bryan if he could just wake me right before the ball dropped. He couldn't believe it and told me I could just wait, which I did and as soon as that big ass ball hit ground my butt ran and hopped into bed. Sad, very very sad.
